As I take a moment to reflect, I find myself thanking our creator for the immense blessings He has showered upon us; truly, there could never be too much appreciation expressed, and sadly, we often find ourselves complaining far more than we communicate our gratitude. The habit of cultivating a spirit of thankfulness goes a remarkably long way in providing not only the rest that we richly deserve but also in granting us the clarity of purpose that is so crucial in navigating the complexities of life, along with the strength to carry that purpose through the challenges we inevitably face. I have often pondered the depth of my thoughts, envisioning if I were a river, I would flow tirelessly to wash away all forms of poverty that plague our world. If I were transformed into a bird, I would carry the melodies of praise in every note, singing songs of worship and adoration to Him. If I were bestowed with the essence of all creation, I would release shouts of uncontainable joy to echo through the universe, yet in my current state, as one in and intimately connected with God, I humbly offer myself to Him. Indeed, let everything that breathes and lives rise up in praise of the Lord.
It is rather uncommon for us to consider that our worship could somehow influence God, as if we could compel Him to act against His divine nature, but the poignant truth remains that we are the ones in constant need of Him; we are the creatures who would find it impossible to exist without His providence. The act of worshiping and thanking Him is not merely a ritual; it is a means for us to establish a deeper and more intimate connection with Him. Should you find yourself feeling as though you have nothing to offer, remember that you can always lift your voice in unending praise, for He is worthy of it beyond what we can imagine. Our motivation for honoring Him should never be anything less than a true reflection of who He is and an expression of the vastness of our love for Him.
As we stand at the threshold of 2026, let us collectively decide to embrace a practice of worshiping more fervently than we complain, to adore Him with fervent hearts more than we seek for ourselves; indeed, while He delights in our petitions, He revels even more in our unconditional reliance upon Him. Personally, I find that I could offer Him everything that I possess, yet I would still affirm that all I truly have to give is the entirety of my being – I offer myself to you, Lord. I surrender my affections, my will, my emotions, and my desires at your feet. I commit to being motivated solely by the essence of who He is. I pledge to allow myself to be led by Him and not be swayed by fleeting feelings, for it is written that we are to be guided by His Spirit.
Therefore, if you must do anything at all, let it be to continuously praise Him throughout every circumstance you encounter. Glorify Him from everlasting to everlasting, for your God Yahweh is truly deserving of such reverence. Glory to God in the highest!
