A Speaking Satire

I met a little boy on the streets. He had flown in his mouth and torn clothes on his neck. My heart broke a bit when I looked at him. Before I knew it I was swimming in an ocean of thought thinking to myself, why this surge of evil? The child no one pity but a priced offering. An object of sympathy, a physical display of the human heart. He turned and looked at me as if he had what I said. He walked picking up, branches of flower trees. I waved at him, he did not respond. I greeted him with a smile, he could not comprehend, because he stared at me with such deep questions. So I went closer and asked, what are you using these for? He responded with an indifferent glance, “food”. Lack has its place in northern Nigeria, but no one seems to have a solution.

I have heard that the reason children and women are kidnapped is In the name of ‘defense’. Defense from the weapons of corruption and political rascality. I for one think these usual happenings of calamity are to them a business, an artistic merchandise of blood and body parts. These also are far from their right-thinking faculty to tackle. They wink and squeeze their noses in disgust but they celebrate wanton mediocrity and dehumanization. They love the tears and pain and wails from all over Nigeria.

The pain that goes with hunger is discriminatory, it only chooses to afflict the poor masses. But please, blame the mothers? I will be hypocritical to think a mother has a say concerning her offspring, o, one she carried for nine months. It is always the Man who owns everything, excluding, the problems and misfortune of life, that is always a woman’s fault. The leadership in Nigeria is patriarchal, it blames the weaker meat.

You could be having a refreshing outing, but suddenly, you will hear a chorus of beggars, going toward you. What can you do? You are witnessing a time boom unattended to, waiting to explode. Social ills stare back at us, if you say we do not need to pray, then what is the solution from your perspective?
The girl child needs to be protected with education, you have to feed her skill, so she can defend herself, and also pay her well-deserving compensation at work. But you say a girl belongs in the kitchen and the other room, to the total shame and disgrace of the “schooled” that voted for you.

Who destroyed the economy? Is it some aliens from mars or Jupiter? Or humans in wolves’ clothing parading as wolves? They have no fear of justice, only the karma of the harvest time.
The Global climate cries. The Nigerian pollution affair screams. Look and you will see a mountain of dirt, bacterial-infested water also choked-up air containing dry smoke from factories and waste. But by all means, lets us shout out loud all positivity in the selfish plans We have neared. Fight against that and that but the fight never yields because our hearts don’t align with our words. We are far behind, when do we start doing the needful to avert a more ferocious worm, from destroying our potentially great country?

I believe in a God whose Will and Kingdom will be established and soon it will be done. May His mercy plea. Become the prosperity are, what are you waiting for?
