Christian Missions: Is Missions for Everyone? By Ibrahim Nathaniel

Do you think missions are for everyone?

Answer

I believe missions are for everyone! There are so many aspects in missions that everyone can get involved in, and I will like to highlight four areas; you can pray, you can send, you can go and you can facilitate the whole process and be the link between the first three groups of persons.

Those who pray are the first point of call, Jesus said to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers to the fields that are white and ready for the harvest, then we will also pray for the laborers in the field to be protected from wicked and unreasonable men so that they will speak the word of God boldly in a way the people will understand.

Roman 10:15 says the preachers (goers) cannot preach unless they are sent. All the resources needed to reach the remaining areas (UPGs) are in the church. In 2017 missions enthusiasts told us that the church is sitting on the resources needed to complete the Great Commission seventeen times. Having said that, it is important to also mention that we (the church of Jesus Christ) are the ones still withholding Him from coming back because we are not sending as many people as are needed as well as the right people that are suitable for the work.

Those who go must be people who are compassionate towards the lost. Matthew 9:36 says “When he (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
The next set of people are those who send; they give out of what God has blessed them with to those who will go as well as those who will facilitate the going.

It is important to note here that the quality of what is given will determine the kind of work that will be done. We must go past the idea of “missionaries are rural dwellers so they can make do with handouts” this is what discourages the young, skillful, and energetic people from getting involved in missions because they don’t want to live in penury and hardship. I strongly believe that when we give our best to missions it will also bring in the best people and we will have the best results.

Summarily, missions are for everyone, all you need to do is find out where God has placed you and go.

Remember you are important to God, come and receive His salvation today. Accept Jesus Christ to be your personal Lord and savior and you will be saved. Confess that He is God, the one who came through the virgin birth, that He lived, died, rose, and surely will return soon. Soon might be today.

Now that you are saved! Join a Bible-believing church. Make Jesus Christ first place in your life. He will show you things you can never imagine. Why not become a Missionary, now that you are born again?
