The Attack On Prof. AA Zuru Must Be Condemned and violence eliminated from Nigerian Politics.

It was reported that Prof. AA Zuru, a resident commissioner of the electoral body sent to preside over the governorship election was beaten during the supplementary election that was held on Saturday, April 16, 20223, in some states across the nation, including Adamawa, for allegedly declaring Senator Binani of the APC as the election’s victor.

This form of jungle justice approach to reputable citizens must end, it should not be hard that Nigerians have murdered its reputable leaders and rehabilitated criminals. AA Zuru’s track record and what he represents In Nigerians and African academia must be upheld and commended not stricken on suspicious grounds.

Nonetheless, it appears that Nigerians had a variety of diverse reactions to this difficult situation, mine is a no-no to every form of violence. I know we are desperate for change and especially tired of the injustices at the electoral body, but we can not all become mad, unaware of a more peaceful sustainable approach to bringing unity and peace to our Nation. APC or LP the life of an individual in Nigeria is more valuable than any political belief or party.

Nigerian politics must stop using violence because it erodes democratic procedures, results in the loss of lives and property, and fosters a climate of mistrust and fear, this cannot be over-emphasized.

Voters can be intimidated, turnout can be reduced, and people can’t openly express their political beliefs when violence is used in politics.

The essential tenets of democracy, which demimpartialen and impartial expression of the people’s will, are undercut by this.

Additionally, ethnic and religious tensions are frequently linked to political violence in Nigeria, which can worsen the nation’s already-existing divisions.

As a result, societal cohesiveness may break down, increasing the likelihood of conflict and violent crime. Political violence not only claims lives, but it may also be detrimental to the economy.

Companies could be hesitant to make investments in places where there is a high risk of violence, which might prevent the growth and development of the economy.

Thus, Nigerian leaders and citizens need to collaborate too to support democratic, peaceful political processes as well as to denounce and eradicate all types of violence.

This could contribute to the development of a more wealthy and stable Nigeria where all citizens can take part in political activities without being threatened with violence or intimidation.
