The curator walked out of his office and sauntered around the section when he came across who he actually believed were first time foreign tourists from Africa. He decided to assist them.

“Hello! This way to the African section. Follow me.” At an intersection he pointed out a section to them and briskly walk away. They followed the signal and came to a mass collection of artifacts from Africa.

“Omo ! Which one are we seeing? We don’t have the time to see everything.”

“Lets look for Sub-Sahara Africa,” his friend advised.

They meandered round the various compartments of the museum and finally came across West African section and zeroed Nigeria. He knew what he wanted and went straight to Middle-Belt section.

He saw Tiv section.
He saw Igala.
He saw Agatu section.
He did not see Idoma section.
“Why on earth?

“Look up, here is Idoma with all the tribal accruement and appurtenances of high chiefs and high priests,” his Yorub friend assured him.

The elated Oche strolled down to feed his eyes with ancient African carvings from his people. As soon as he got closer to one of the mask he overheard that eerie guttural squeaking of a voice;

“Prince Oche!” Prince Oche! “ Prince Oche!”

“My Forefather.”

“Take me home. I have been here for too long.”

The Prince asked his friend: “How could I take a museum arctic belonging to Government to Nigeria. Even if I steal it I can’t pass the airport before being arrested… so how can I… oh…..I cant.”
“Asked him how to go about it.”
    “Ok.”
“My ancestor, I don’t know how to take you home.”
“Go and procure seven cowrie shells, seven bitter kola, seven beads, seven angulu vulture feathers, seven hankaka crow/raven feathers talons, five agwagwa duck legs and three minkie eagle eyes, three shaho falcon/hawk wings, five mujiya owl eyes and five heads of tolotolo turkey.”
    “Yes my ancestor.”
“Make sure they were caught in action while hooting, squawking or else let them be whining, swooping, chirping and tittering.
    “My ancestors. I shall comply.”

They duo strode outside and the Prince asked his friend again where to getthe items noting it was herculean. However, his friend made a revelation.

“Lets go to the African market in central London.”

At the market, they saw wide varieties of different carcass of birds, reptiles, animals and sea mammals.

“How much is this?”
“Ten pounds.”
“What of this one?”
“Eight pounds.”
“These items are over-priced.” He turned to his friends.
“You have no choice but to buy them.”
So they bought everything required of them.
“But it is unplanned?”
“You are even lucky to have seen them,” his friend said.
“Well! I am happy to do the will of the gods.”

They came back to the museum to discover it was closed with thousand visitors shutout. The doors were firmly locked with cross-bar and a notice written on a board: CLOSED FOR TODAY. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. MANAGEMENT.

“Omo! What do I do now that the museum is closed under emergency. What excuse do I give to my forefather?” Prince lamented.

“Tell him the situation you find yourself.”

“Okay you are right.”

He brushed his way from the crowed of visitors until he came near the building and close to one of the windows and stopped.

“My forefathers I have done exactly according to your instruction. But the museum is closed so I cannot enter to place them on your head as you directed.”

Silence.

Just of sudden, the museum windows started cracking to the surprise of visitors as some started scampering.

The curator came out with his security men to check the damage. But went straight to identify the Prince and his friend and ushered them in leaving out thousand visitors.

Surprisingly, as soon as all of them entered, the security officers once again locked up the gate.

Without a word every one of them turned and walk to his section of the museum.

The Curator did not utter a word to them. He walked away to his Office.

The Prince announced his return by greeting and praising the forefather. He then placed the sacrificial items one by one and placed them on the head of the mask.

As the Prince completed the placement, he was later told when he came home that there was jubilation in idomaland that their forefathers has return from his long travelle back home.

The young army lieutenants had just passed-out from the Sand Hurst Military Academy and were given three days holidays for shopping and site seeing before their departure to Nigeria.
