The Unseen Wife

In shadows cast by love’s deceitful light,

A woman dwells, unseen, in endless night.

Her heart, a garden where affection’s seed,

Is sown in vain, for love she does not heed.

Her eyes, once bright with hope and wild desire,

Now dimmed by tears, consumed by inner fire.

She yearns for recognition, love’s embrace,

Yet finds herself alone in loveless space.

Her husband’s gaze, a passing glance, so cold,

Like winter’s frost, it chills her weary soul.

She longs for words that speak of tender care,

But silence reigns, a weight she cannot bear.

She hides her pain behind a painted smile,

A masquerade, concealing all the while,

The ache that lingers deep within her chest,

As love’s true essence withers and detests.

Oh, cruel fate, to be a ghostly bride,

Invisible, though standing by his side.

Alas, the world may know her not, it seems,

Her essence lost within love’s shattered dreams.

But in her heart, a flicker still remains,

A spark of hope, a strength that love sustains.

For though unseen, she knows her worth is true,

A radiant soul, forever shining through.

So let her rise, a phoenix from the pyre,

A woman loved, her spirit set on fire.

For in the depths of darkness, she will find,

Her voice, her truth, her worth, forever signed.
