70th Birthday: Twenty Lessons I learnt from My Father
The love of a father is very crucial in the healthy development of children. The role a father plays cannot be over emphasized, or can his efforts go unnoticed. God bless every father and husband faithful living up to their responsibility, giving their best and everyday thrive to become like Jesus Christ.
My Dad endeavored to create good memories, I recall; poems and songs written to us. Scriptures given to us as ours, early morning hymns, carrying us to bed, prayers, getting us ready for school, doing after school lessons, timely discussions also cooking meals for us.
Kisses and little gifts hidden in letters that say just because I love you, have this token of love . Rough plays with Mum, and us. Washing clothes at the Damcite is full of play, put us in buckets filled with water and carry us joyfully. A family prayer picknicks on the hills of zuru. Spontaneous sacrifices. How else would you define love? Every child is a blessing, treasure the moments you have with them. Remember children grow and would leave, and what would speak of and for you is the love, time, attention and sacrifices you have invested in them.
Twenty Lessons to take note
- What ever you do, do as unto the Lord, don’t ever over explain your self people believe what they want to.
- Who ever offends you, didn’t really offend you but God, if God can forgive them, why hold on to their grievances.
- A man who would not change for the sake of God will not change for you, accept the love of a man who loves the Lord and he will keep his vows to you for Gods sake.
- What is it with women with attention, the attention you need has been given by your creator don’t seek it elsewhere, you would feel disappointed where the flesh rules, expect reassurance from He who created the heart and placed His love.
- Your children are not yours but Gods, treat them as His, and He will bless you. Be faithful to your spouse, so your children don’t pay for your carelessness. Love God so you can model Christ to your family first then the world.
- Who are you that people won’t treat like trash, if they could kill Jesus Christ who raised their dead and healed them who are you, stay humble.
- It is God who gives us grace to love Him rightly, stay on His word until you get it.
- The easiest way to be compassionate towards people who treat you wickedly is to look at them as humans who don’t know God, what else can you expect from one who refuses to give his or her heart to God who gave them the heart in the first place.
- Love can be wasted, don’t waste it. Don’t throw your expensive jewelry to swans.
- You cannot survive a day without God, remember He is the air you breathe not a man made life.
- Respect your husband, do things for him as unto the Lord but don’t forget to let God be God.
- Be a giver, save a part for yourself though. What you give is really what is yours.
- There is no purpose in life, only in God. Don’t marry a fool. A fool says there is no God, a fool makes fun of the things of God. Don’t be a fool too.
- Sex is spiritual believe it or not. Experimenting out side of marriage is deadly, it only brings calamity and wars. That’s what is wrong with our world today, we think we can be loyal to two masters.
- I have no reason to tell your mother to pack and Go, it is an insult to God who showed me mercy by giving me your mother.
- You are my girls, intelligent, beautiful, priceless and you can always know you come first.
- Mind your thoughts, choose your words but tell God everything. You owe your spouse the truth. The word of God will lead you to victories.
- Education is not only the key but a light in a world of confused opinion. Thrive for excellence, but give God the first place. Education infact sets you a part from every other kind of girl.
- Don’t eat because there’s so much on the table eat because you are hungry. Sleep only when you have done the job. Clap for your self and see good in you. Don’t wait on humans always for a compliment.
- Be kind, be happy, be grateful and stay in His Love. Live ready for the rapture. Make sure your family is ready for His second coming.
