30 Lessons I Learnt from my Mother (5 years with the Lord)

Being a woman all over the world has never been easy, a woman is expected to carry the burden and be strong while smiling, these expectation has given rise to women who are defensive and burdened. I thank God for the gift of mothers who stand faithful through it all, juggling careers, the home front, and ministry. Today being the fifth year since my mum left to be with the Lord, I celebrate her by speaking well of her.

My late mother was someone who stood in the gap for us through prayers and being present. She loved the rain, loved to whistle rhythm and sing songs of praise. I remember her cheering people at events, dancing effortlessly and joyfully. Her laughter was childlike, carefree, and loud. She would cry each time she takes us to the park to resume school. She believed in us and what God says about us.

Her respect and admiration for our father gave us hope. Playful and determined. A great artist. She was so beautiful and her smile oh her smile was genuine and filled with warmth. She would comfort you even when she needed comfort and smile through every storm. If there is anything I hold on to is the sound of her voice in the mornings calling us to wake up for prayers. The smile on her face, after returning from the shop even when she didn’t make so much sale, she will enter the house while having a hurting foot but will light up a sad room with her honest smile. She had a hand so creatively skillful, a teacher, a pastor’s wife, and an entrepreneur.

My mother’s faith was felt and her love for Christ, community, and family was true. Her legacy will live on. We miss her every second but heaven is home.

1. Be content with what God gives you

2. If Jesus Christ could hear me when I was not a Christian to give me your father, He will come to your aid when you call on Him because He has chosen you for Himself.

3. Be kind to people that hurt you, nothing stays forever even hatred, one day it will be a past.

4. Marriage is hard work but beautiful

5. Always dance, and smile through life enjoying every moment, life is a gift.

6. I will follow Jesus Christ until the day I die hope you will love Him that much, you are nothing without Him.

7. Happiness can not be found in material things or relationships but the relationship with Christ. Today is the day to be happy, the time to be happy an occasion to be happy accept Him today.

7. There is no argument as important as walking in love and kindness.

8. God will not commit great things to you until He sees your willingness to mature in the Spirit and character.

9. Whatever you prioritize above the purpose of God is a distraction maintain your walk in His leading.

10. Conduct yourself as a humble, meek, and zealous follower of Christ, be an example to others so they accept salvation.

11. Don’t read less than four chapters of the Bible a day.

12. Live passionately while you live, don’t waste time doing unproductive things.

13. Always have more than one source of income, make up your mind to be the wife and mother who can also provide.

14. Support your husband you were created to stand by Him, don’t lie or steal from him.

15. Don’t say no to making love to your husband unless you are experiencing physical pain, if that’s the case say no humbly and respectfully.

16. Don’t share your spouse with anyone and hold up the standard of faithfulness, it is a lie that all men cheat. If there is no human created by God to cheat, then why accept it?

17. Cover up your nakedness, it is shameful to expose your privates there is nothing Christian about it but madness.

18. Have as many children as you can, God is your source and every child is provided for by Him.

19. never do anything out of revenge. Never do anything which you will be afraid or ashamed to do if it were the last hour of your life.

20. Pray for your family by name. Teach your children to trust in God and not you and love them with every breath, there are people still waiting for the fruit of the womb don’t take your children for granted. Pray about everything.

21. It is okay to be angry but don’t be bitter. It is okay to fail but not okay to accept failure, you keep pushing, I know God will do it He said He will do it.

22. You remain, my daughters, no setback will change that and I remain your mother.

23. Let go of what was taken forcefully from you God will restore.

24. Don’t sell your body for a morsel of food, the Lord will always provide.

25. keep your promise, especially your covenant of marriage, some women are committed to faithfulness be Her.

26. Plan your life and execute with caution. Be clean, dress beautifully, there should always be food on your table. Refuse going out for gossips and living your house I kept, if people need to speak with you they should find you position in a profitable space.

27. Don’t  expose yourself to gossip or rivalry by giving the details of your victories, only do that while giving thanks to God.

28. Take care, love and support your inlaws, they are always right, know this know peace.

29. Eat your food before going for an occasion so you don’t insult your family and God your provider by behaving as if you have no home training or are not provided for.

30. Take care, love, and encourage yourself. Be at peace and forgive yourself. I will always remain your mother and you my daughters….Dont forget people who stand by you when God blesses you bless them too, nor should you payback people who treated you wickedly be kind to them and bless them. Love your Sister she is blood be patient with her.
