A weapon of Fear

A weapon of Fear

Fear, in the hands of a violent heart, is a weapon deadlier than a gun. “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” ~ Proverbs 29:25 The world today is full of chaos violence and greed, the love of many has gone cold, no wonder there is an uprise in the level of un-development, especially in Nigeria, depression, and anxiety.

No one should live under fear, fear is a torment. You might question why people refuse to run at the sight of danger but have you ever imagined the power of terror, the crippling effect of fear instilled by a manipulative narcissistic human? The feeling of unworthiness, of never being enough, the torture of words that demean and tease, falsely accuse, no human should live with the fear of being misunderstood or punished for a mistake. No human should live in the atmosphere of fear of rape and battering. So don’t ask why they didn’t leave, instead remind them about one who has given them a perfect escape plan, His Love.

Don’t ask a girl or boy who was raped, why she took herself there, don’t. Don’t ask why she or he did not tell that it was a parent raping them, how could they have had the moral will? Don’t just stay there judging people about how they handle things they were helpless to overcome. The reason you know about it, is to do something about it, don’t wait for them to permit you, because they have given fear their will.  Speak kindly to their situation, just as the scripture instructs “Tell everyone who is discouraged, Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue…” Isaiah 35:4. involve the appropriate authority where there is a need.

I had to deal with fear, anxiety, and depression but God is merciful to bring along my way someone who stood in the gap in prayer, and love.  We have to learn to draw the line between judgment and compassion. No one needs to survive abuse, but we are in an evil world and ungodly people yield to evil influences more than the just way.  It is indeed mind-boggling to find that often the innocent have not been allowed to choose a righteous life-giving path laid out for them. We can do better by being the light that shows the way out of the darkness. The truth is we were never called to the place of spiteful criticism.

There is hope! He says; Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.” ~ Deuteronomy 3:22 “The Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”

Be assured, He is with you in whatever you face, in the turmoil and struggles, amidst the anxious thoughts and the worries, during all forms of abuse and neglect, of life. He is there, strengthening, helping, avenging and He holds you in His hands.

God is greater. He gives us the power to live courageously, boldly, fearlessly in this life, when many things that surround us would tell us to be afraid. His truth whispers strong and sure to the deepest core of our spirits.

“Do not fear.”

All of that stuff on your mind? Give it to Him – again. Replace those fearful thoughts with His words of truth. And sleep in peace tonight. He knows what concerns you, He’s got you covered. Do not be afraid to cry out for help, do not hesitate to accept his or face the enemy knowing your God lives in you and with you. Be at peace! You are loved by the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
